Budget Adoption Alerts

Follow a jurisdiction and get told when it adopts a budget — from the official adoption record only, never from a proposed budget or a rumor. No account required: follows here are stored only in this browser.

Scope, stated plainly: alerts follow this site's own verified published record, not government meeting calendars. An alert fires when a dashboard newly carries an adopted budget backed by an ordinance or resolution with an adoption date, a source document, and both figures. The site does not poll governments.

No new adoption events in this feed yet. Follow jurisdictions below; when one of them newly adopts a budget, its alert appears here on your next visit.

What an alert looks like

Example alert — format demonstration, not a real adoption event. It replays a real, already-published record (Conyers) so you can see the format; it is not a new adoption.

Privacy note — what is stored, and where

Exactly this, and nothing else: each follow you tap stores one entry in your own browser's local storage — the jurisdiction, its dashboard path, and the date you followed. Nothing is sent anywhere, no account is created, no email address is collected on this page, and no tracking of any kind runs here. Unfollowing — here, or from an alert's own unsubscribe button — removes the follow and its alerts instantly. Entries left unconfirmed for more than 30 days are purged automatically (this page already purges such entries on load; on-site follows need no confirmation, so the rule bites only on future confirmation-based follows). Clearing this site's browser data clears every follow. The follow list is never reused for any other purpose — no fundraising, no campaigning, no analytics.

How alerts work

At build time, a detector reads every dashboard and extracts its adoption record: instrument, fiscal year, adoption date, source document, adopted total, and General Fund. A new record produces an alert event only when it passes all four trigger checks (adopted, not proposed; named instrument; adoption date; source document) and its jurisdiction + instrument + fiscal year key has not been alerted before. A second adoption record for the same fiscal year with a different instrument produces a separate alert. In the current build, 48 of 603 dashboards carry a complete adoption record; only those dashboards can produce events today. The rest can be followed now and will alert once their dashboard states a complete record.
