Pick a town, move the levers, and see what changes. Every simulated number on this page is labeled SIMULATION. No simulated figure is adopted, actual, or approved. This is not a forecast, not a proposal, and not any city's budget.
No adopted millage rate is on file for this jurisdiction, so no rate lever is shown.

What the millage lever does and does not do: it changes the tax rate only. The revenue effect of a millage change is not computed on this page, because that requires the tax digest (taxable value), which is not part of the published figures used here. A higher millage does not automatically close a simulated deficit, and a lower millage does not automatically create one.
How this works, and what it does not do
New General Fund spending = adopted General Fund spending × (1 + spending change), rounded to whole dollars first. Balance and total are derived from that rounded value, so the displayed figures foot exactly: revenues minus spending equals the balance, and the total moves by exactly the spending change.
General Fund revenues stay at the adopted figure in every simulation: this page has no revenue lever, so it cannot show a spending increase paid for by new revenue, a fee change, or a grant.
Other funds are held unchanged when a total is shown; that is a stated modeling choice, not a published fact. Where no adopted all-funds total is on file for a jurisdiction, no total row is shown at all — never an estimated total.
Only jurisdictions with an adopted General Fund revenue-and-spending pair in this site's published dashboards are listed (16 of 603 dashboards). A jurisdiction without such a pair is left out, never filled in.
