Ottawa County, Kansas

Presented through its audited financial statement for the year ended December 31, 2025 (June 17, 2026). This is Ottawa County; the City of Ottawa in Franklin County is a different government.

Basis — read this first: every figure on this page comes from the County's audited financial statement for the year ended December 31, 2025 (independent auditors' report, Hutchinson, Kansas; June 17, 2026) on the Kansas regulatory basis. Figures are audited actuals, not a budget or a proposal. The City of Ottawa (Franklin County seat) is a different government and is not included here.

Sources & notes

  • Only source used: Ottawa County financial statement with independent auditors' report, year ended December 31, 2025 (Hutchinson, Kansas; June 17, 2026; unmodified opinion on the Kansas regulatory basis, adverse opinion on U.S. GAAP — the firm name is a logo in the document and does not appear in its text layer, so it is not named here), via the Kansas Department of Administration state portal. Read the audit (PDF).
  • Sum checks: $9,182,974 + $13,255,379 − $12,486,677 = $9,951,676 and + $213,702 = $10,165,378; General Fund receipts components sum to $2,944,730, and $1,939,882 + $2,944,730 − $2,865,204 = $2,019,408; debt $3,030,000 + $1,502,193 = $4,532,193 and leases $649,176 + $1,118,913 − $265,896 = $1,502,193; cash $23,196,102 − $13,030,724 = $10,165,378. All verified by addition.
  • Discrepancy disclosed, not smoothed: the General Fund schedule's printed department lines sum to $2,878,815, which is $13,611 above the printed expenditure total of $2,865,204 — exactly the County Counselor line ($13,611). The Counselor amount appears to be included inside another printed category, so this page uses the printed $2,865,204 total and lists the departments as printed.
  • County palette: no verified Ottawa County palette was on file, so this page uses the neutral Hometown Numbers dark-glass theme rather than a county color.
