Anderson County, Kansas

A Kansas county budget dashboard — adopted figures for 2026, not actuals, not a forecast.

Basis — read this first: every figure on this page comes from the County's adopted budget for 2026, certified as duly approved and adopted as the maximum expenditure for the various funds for 2026. Adopted budgets are spending authority, not money spent: the 2024 actuals and 2025 estimates shown for the General Fund are the budget form's own comparison columns, labeled as such. No audit figure is used here.

Overview

Anderson County adopted a 2026 budget of $16,276,667 in total budget authority, supported by $10,510,253 in 2025 ad valorem tax. The budget's revenue neutral rate is 72.587 mills, and the certificate states the budget does not require a resolution to exceed the revenue neutral rate. General Fund — 2026 adopted

The General Fund's 2026 budget authority is $4,983,480, against a 2025 estimate of $4,709,446 in expenditures and 2024 actual expenditures of $4,091,292. The 2026 authority is funded by a tax requirement of $2,421,485 plus a 3.00% delinquent-tax allowance of $74,891, for the $2,496,376 ad valorem levy in the table above. The budget form's 2026 receipts column ($2,043,972, excluding ad valorem tax, which the form shows as X's) plus the January 1, 2026 cash balance of $518,023 gives resources available of $2,561,995 — the balance of the authority is the ad valorem levy.

Sources & notes

  • Only source used: Anderson County, Kansas, 2026 adopted budget (State of Kansas county budget form). Read the budget (PDF).
  • Sum checks: the all-funds authority column and the ad valorem column each sum exactly to the certificate totals; the General Fund department table is $1 short of its certified total, disclosed above.
  • What is missing: the budget form's statement of indebtedness did not extract legibly, so no debt figure is claimed on this page. No audit or actuals for 2025/2026 are used — the comparison columns are the budget form's own figures.
  • County palette: no verified Anderson County palette was on file, so this page uses the neutral Hometown Numbers dark-glass theme rather than a county color.
